Greetings Collectors!
The Collector's Trove Presents: The E. Gary Gygax Estate Auction!
These auction items include a collection of Gary's comp copies of Dragon magazines from 1-34, as well as his Gord the Rogue and Setne Imhotep novels.
Among the special items for auction are Gary's TSR business cards, personal TSR stationary, two of Gary's favorite belt buckles, and a piece of original Jim Roslof art signed by 60 TSR employees, designers, artists, and authors, and more!
Special, featured items include signed letters to Gary from Fritz Leiber, Stan Lee, and George Scithers, a Dragon magazine autographed by Harry O. Fischer, a letter to Orson Welles, Gary's contract for the AD&D Monster Manual, Gary's 45 page personal explanation of the company to his new Chief Operating Officer in 1985, an early draft of the Dungeons & Dragons movie script by James Goldman with Gary's corrections, Gary's own Apple Macintosh computer from 1987, a birthday card to Gary from Willy N' Ethel cartoonist, Joe Martin, and Gary's personal performance script of Matt Groening's Futurama episode: Anthology of Interest!
The premier item in the auction, of course, is Gary's original Greyhawk Castle manuscript! Not one but two versions of the castle! The 1st from 1973, is the original 22+ level playtest castle for D&D and the 2nd from 1974-1976, is the 46+ level playtest castle for the expanding D&D game that would eventually lead to AD&D. Only Gary Gygax and Rob Kuntz had ever seen the entire 2nd castle and only Gary had ever seen the whole 1st castle.
